The Rise of Virtual Gaming in India

The gaming industry has witnessed a tremendous rise in the last year. Owing to the Covid-19 induced, the well-growing gaming industry got a push that went on to further its growth.

The Gaming Industry especially in India has expanded in recent years. The online gaming segment in India is projected to grow at a CAGR of 21 percent over FY21-FY25 to reach a size of Rs 29,000 crore. Of the total size, the online casual gaming sub-segment is the most significant one and stands at Rs 6,000 crore accounting for 44 percent of the total online gaming revenues. The COVID-19 brought in the idea of e-sports as another form of entertainment. With no on-ground events and outdoor activities available at hand; consumers indulged in virtual entertainment through online video games.  Consumers demanded technology that transported them within the game and gave them the trills and rush of aliveness. The idea of “virtual entertainment”, a combination of multi-layered entertainment forces with consolidated gaming, online/social media, and conventional media content into one system became the bigger picture of the household. Leading Consumer durables brands like LG strongly contributed to this Virtual Environment by offering innovative technology.

LG Electronics has always been focused on driving modern technology and innovation for consumers.
